Questions You Should Ask Before Hiring a Windshield Repair Company

So your windshield is damaged and you want to get it repaired. How can you know that the company you’re going to be hiring will do quality work?  First of all, windshield repair is not regulated. There are no required certifications or tests to pass. Windshield repair companies do not have to guarantee that their repair will last! Here are a few questions to ask before hiring your next windshield repair company.

1. How long have you been repairing windshields? Generally, the longer the company has been in business, the more experience they will have with different types of damage and auto glass. Domestic glass behaves extremely differently than most imported glass, and your windshield repair tech should have successful experience in repairing all common types.

2. Do you have a written guarantee? Many windshield repair companies do not offer a guarantee on their work. We offer a lifetime guarantee on our work, for as long as you own the vehicle.

4. How to you cure the resin? Windshield repair resin is UV sensitive, and as soon as the UV rays start to hit it, the resin begins curing (hardening). If the resin has not had a chance to get into the deep recesses of the repair before it starts hardening, it is more likely to fail. If left to cure in the sunshine, the resin will cure unevenly. A quality windshield repair company will complete their work by curing the resin with their own UV light.

By asking a few questions and finding out about the practices of the windshield repair company you're thinking about hiring, you can save yourself a bundle of money, as well as avoiding potential headaches down the road. You'll sound so well informed that they might even think you're the competition!
